As of October 19, 2026, BLACKPINK members’ ages are: Jisoo, 31; Jennie, 30; Rosé, 29; and Lisa, 29. Jisoo is the oldest member, while Lisa is the youngest. Although Rosé and Lisa share a birth year, Rosé was born just over a month earlier.
BLACKPINK is the four-member South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment. Since debuting in August 2016, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have built a shared international career while developing individual identities in music, acting, and fashion.
BLACKPINK Members’ Ages at a Glance
The ages below use international age, meaning the number of completed years since each member’s birth. All four members had already celebrated their birthdays by the date of this article.
| Member | Full or professional name | Birth date | Age on October 19, 2026 | Background |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jisoo | Kim Ji-soo | January 3, 1995 | 31 | South Korean |
| Jennie | Jennie Kim | January 16, 1996 | 30 | South Korean; studied in New Zealand |
| Rosé | Roseanne Park, also known as Park Chae-young | February 11, 1997 | 29 | Born in New Zealand to Korean parents; raised in Australia |
| Lisa | Lalisa Manobal | March 27, 1997 | 29 | Thai |
YG Entertainment’s official member profile lists these four birth dates. The age order is therefore Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, from oldest to youngest.
Lisa is often called BLACKPINK’s maknae, a Korean term for the youngest member of a group. That description reflects her place in the lineup, regardless of how old the members become.
How Old Were BLACKPINK When They Debuted?
BLACKPINK debuted on August 8, 2016, with the single album Square One, featuring “Whistle” and “Boombayah.”
On that date, Jisoo was 21, Jennie was 20, and Rosé and Lisa were both 19. Those are their ages at their official group debut, rather than the younger ages at which they entered training.
Their preparation began years before audiences knew them as BLACKPINK. Jennie joined YG in 2010, Jisoo and Lisa followed in 2011, and Rosé arrived in 2012.
The members’ accounts of that period describe regular evaluations, shared accommodation, and extensive practice. For those who moved from overseas, training also meant adjusting to another country and, in Lisa’s case, learning Korean.
That distinction matters when reading their biographies: they became professional recording artists together, but each arrived with a different childhood and route into the industry.
Jisoo: The Oldest Member’s Path Into Music and Acting
Kim Ji-soo grew up in South Korea and joined YG Entertainment in 2011. Before BLACKPINK’s debut, she appeared in advertising and music videos, gaining experience in front of the camera while continuing her training.
As the group’s oldest member, Jisoo occupies the senior position in its age hierarchy. However, BLACKPINK does not have a formally designated leader, so being the oldest should not be confused with holding that title.
Her career eventually expanded beyond group recordings and performances. She took a leading role opposite Jung Hae-in in the television drama Snowdrop, which began airing in 2021.
Jisoo became the last BLACKPINK member to make an official solo music debut when she released Me on March 31, 2023. Its lead single, “Flower,” gave her a separate musical identity built around her distinctive lower vocal tone and a recognizable dance performance.
In 2024, she launched BLISSOO for her individual activities. Her 2025 EP, Amortage, continued that development with four songs exploring different stages of a relationship.
Her documented personal history includes a relationship with actor Ahn Bo-hyun. Their relationship became public in August 2023, and YG confirmed their breakup that October. It belongs in her past relationship history, rather than being described as a current partnership.
Jennie: From Studying Abroad to Building a Solo Career
Jennie Kim was born in South Korea and spent part of her school years in New Zealand. Her experience abroad helped develop the English fluency that later became useful in BLACKPINK’s international interviews and recordings.
She returned to South Korea and entered YG’s training system in 2010. With roughly six years of preparation before BLACKPINK’s debut, she spent longer as a YG trainee than the other three members.
Early professional opportunities included work with established YG artists. Those appearances introduced her to audiences before BLACKPINK’s name and final lineup became widely known.
Jennie was the first member to release solo music. Her debut single, “Solo,” arrived in November 2018, establishing an individual career while she remained active with the group.
She later broadened her work through acting in HBO’s The Idol and recording “One of the Girls” with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp. Her subsequent releases included “You & Me” and “Mantra.”
Another turning point came when Jennie established her company, Odd Atelier. Her debut studio album, Ruby, followed on March 7, 2025, with collaborators including Dua Lipa, Doechii, and Childish Gambino.
The progression shows how her career moved from trainee and group performer toward managing a more independent musical direction.
Rosé: A Childhood Across Countries and a Songwriting Career
Rosé’s background requires a distinction between birthplace, upbringing, and heritage. Roseanne Park was born in Auckland, New Zealand, to Korean parents and grew up primarily in Melbourne, Australia.
Music formed part of her childhood before professional training. She sang and played instruments, including piano and guitar, and her father encouraged her to audition for YG.
She successfully auditioned in Australia in 2012 and moved to South Korea at 15. Arriving after the other future members, she completed approximately four years of training before BLACKPINK debuted.
In interviews, Rosé has described the uncertainty of the trainee system and the pressure of trying to secure a debut. Her family background and upbringing overseas also gave her common ground with Lisa, who had moved away from Thailand.
Rosé began her official solo recording career with R in March 2021. Its songs “On the Ground” and “Gone” placed her voice at the center of a smaller, more personal body of work.
Her next major chapter included “APT.,” her collaboration with Bruno Mars, released in October 2024. Her debut studio album, rosie, followed that December.
The album’s title comes from a familiar form of her name. Its songs also allowed more room for personal storytelling than a four-member group release could give any single performer.
Lisa: BLACKPINK’s Youngest Member and Thai Performer
Lalisa Manobal, professionally known as Lisa, is BLACKPINK’s only Thai member. English-language sources sometimes spell her surname “Manoban,” a variation in romanization that refers to the same person.
Lisa developed an interest in dance during childhood in Thailand. She moved to South Korea in 2011, at 14, after successfully auditioning for YG.
Her transition involved more than learning choreography. She entered an unfamiliar language environment and spent approximately five years training before her debut.
In interviews, Lisa has discussed the difficulty of waiting without knowing whether she would eventually become a recording artist. She has also described the encouragement she received from her mother and the support the future BLACKPINK members gave one another.
Her solo debut arrived in September 2021 with Lalisa, featuring the title track and “Money.” Those releases highlighted both her performance skills and her Thai identity.
Lisa later established LLOUD for her individual career. Her first studio album, Alter Ego, arrived in February 2025, and she made her acting debut in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, set in Thailand.
A July 2026 Vanity Fair profile documented her continued expansion into acting and individual projects. Throughout that development, her BLACKPINK membership remained a separate part of her professional story.
From Their First Singles to BLACKPINK’s 2026 Chapter
BLACKPINK’s early releases established a combination of rap, contrasting vocal textures, and tightly coordinated performance. Later projects included Square Up in 2018 and Kill This Love in 2019.
Their first full-length studio release, The Album, arrived in October 2020. Born Pink followed in September 2022 and became the first album by a South Korean girl group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Their festival career brought another significant milestone in 2023, when BLACKPINK became the first Korean group to headline Coachella.
The members’ individual releases subsequently occupied a larger part of their schedules. However, solo work did not end the group’s recording history.
BLACKPINK released “Jump” on July 11, 2025, followed by the five-track EP Deadline on February 27, 2026. YG’s official discography lists “Jump,” “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy” as its tracks.
The group also reached its tenth debut anniversary on August 8, 2026. YG marked the occasion through official fan activities, including a Weverse anniversary notice.
Family, Financial Information, and Public Contributions
The members have discussed family support in interviews, particularly around moving abroad and entering training. Those accounts offer useful context, but they do not establish the many claims about parental wealth and occupations that circulate online.
Likewise, relationship speculation should not become a substitute for documented biography. A past confirmed relationship, an unnamed experience discussed in an interview, and a rumored current partner are different categories of information.
Their professional earnings come from activities including recordings, performances, endorsements, and individual entertainment projects. Some members also operate companies connected to their solo careers.
A reliably established, comparable net-worth figure for all four members is not publicly available. Concert revenue, company income, and endorsement announcements do not reveal an artist’s personal wealth after expenses, ownership arrangements, and taxes.
Their public work also extends beyond entertainment. BLACKPINK served as COP26 advocates, helping communicate climate issues to a younger international audience.
In November 2023, King Charles III presented the members with MBEs in recognition of that advocacy. Buckingham Palace’s announcement specifically connected the recognition to their role around the 2021 climate summit.
BLACKPINK’s age range spans just over two years, yet the members reached the group through different countries, languages, and early experiences. Following their careers now means understanding both the four-person collaboration and the individual decisions shaping each member’s work.
