These Atlanta Falcons vs 49ers match player stats cover the completed 2025 meeting at Levi’s Stadium. The teams’ October 25, 2026 matchup did not have a completed box score in the official game center when checked, so its statistics are not mixed into this breakdown.

San Francisco improved to 5-2, while Atlanta dropped to 3-3. The Falcons remained within one score entering the fourth quarter, but they could not turn that opportunity into a comeback.

Quarterback Stats: Penix’s Yardage Did Not Decide the Game

Michael Penix Jr. finished with more passing yards and a higher passer rating than Mac Jones. However, those advantages did not translate into enough scoring for Atlanta.

Michael Penix Jr., ATL21/382411083.3
Mac Jones, SF17/261520164.9

Penix’s touchdown pass went to Bijan Robinson in the third quarter. He avoided an interception, but a lost fumble gave San Francisco an important scoring opportunity before halftime.

Jones did not throw a touchdown and was intercepted by Kaden Elliss. Nevertheless, San Francisco’s running production allowed the offense to win without a large passing total.

The distinction matters when reading this box score: individual passing yards measure production, but they do not show how effectively an entire offense finished possessions.

Rushing Stats: McCaffrey Created the Biggest Advantage

The clearest separation came on the ground. San Francisco rushed for 174 yards, compared with Atlanta’s 62.

McCaffrey averaged approximately 5.4 yards per carry. His longest run was 15 yards, showing that his total came through repeated gains rather than one unusually long breakaway.

Bijan Robinson averaged approximately 2.9 yards per attempt. Atlanta also received only four carries from Allgeier, leaving the passing game to carry much of the offensive workload.

The two Robinsons in these tables are different players: Bijan represented Atlanta, while Brian Robinson Jr. played for San Francisco in this matchup.

Receiving Stats: Atlanta Spread the Ball, San Francisco Fed McCaffrey

Darnell Mooney led Atlanta in receiving yards, while Kyle Pitts led the Falcons in receptions. McCaffrey topped San Francisco in both categories.

Mooney supplied Atlanta’s longest completion, a 38-yard reception. Pitts provided a steadier outlet, recording what the Falcons’ postgame report identified as season highs in catches and receiving yards at that point.

Robinson contributed through the air despite his limited rushing production. His receiving touchdown accounted for Atlanta’s only touchdown of the night.

For San Francisco, McCaffrey’s receiving work made his performance particularly valuable. Stopping his rushing attempts alone would not have removed his influence from the offense.

Scoring Progression and the Turning Points

Neither team scored in the opening quarter. Atlanta then took a 3-0 lead before San Francisco moved ahead in the second.

A major second-quarter play came when Bryce Huff sacked Penix and forced a fumble. Alfred Collins recovered, and the 49ers converted the possession into a field goal.

Atlanta also lost a potential scoring opportunity just before halftime. An intentional-grounding penalty against Penix triggered a 10-second runoff, ending the half with San Francisco ahead 10-3.

Robinson’s 10-yard touchdown reception helped Atlanta close the gap to 13-10 in the third quarter. However, McCaffrey’s four-yard touchdown run in the fourth extended the lead to its final margin.

Defense, Injuries, and Possession

Elliss supplied Atlanta’s interception, returning it 16 yards. San Francisco answered with its forced fumble and recovery, meaning each team recorded one takeaway.

The Falcons also lost linebacker Divine Deablo to a forearm injury during the second quarter. JD Bertrand replaced him, creating a personnel change in the middle of Atlanta’s defense during a game increasingly shaped by San Francisco’s rushing attack.

Rushing yards62174
Time of possession27:5032:10

Penalty yards4325

Atlanta’s 241 passing yards should not be confused with net passing yardage. Sack losses count against the team’s net total, which explains why adding individual passing yards to rushing yards produces a different number from total net offense.

San Francisco’s possession advantage was four minutes and 20 seconds. Combined with fewer penalties and stronger rushing production, that helped the 49ers manage a game that remained competitive into the final quarter.

What the Player Stats Reveal

McCaffrey was the central figure because he contributed across both parts of the offense. His rushing touchdowns supplied San Francisco’s biggest scoring plays, while his receptions gave Jones a productive passing option.

Atlanta’s problem was finishing. The Falcons received useful contributions from Mooney, Pitts, and Robinson, yet those performances produced only one touchdown.

The decisive difference was San Francisco’s ability to sustain a productive ground attack and finish with a late touchdown. Atlanta generated enough passing yardage to stay involved, but it never established the offensive balance needed to take control.
