There is no verified public relationship between Selena Gomez and Jeff Greene, the real estate developer. The reliable sources reviewed for this article do not establish a romance, family relationship or business partnership.
However, there is a television connection worth explaining. Jeff Garlin, who worked on Wizards of Waverly Place with Gomez, also played a fictional character called Jeff Greene in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Separating the actor, his character and the property developer makes the subject much clearer.
Which Jeff Greene Does the Name Refer To?
Jeff Greene can refer to a real person or a television character. They have different backgrounds, and neither should be confused with actor Jeff Garlin.
| Name | Identity | Connection to this topic |
|---|---|---|
| Selena Gomez | Actress and Rare Beauty founder | Played Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place |
| Jeff Garlin | Actor and comedian | Played Uncle Kelbo in Wizards and Jeff Greene in Curb Your Enthusiasm |
| Jeff Greene | Fictional Curb Your Enthusiasm character | Played by Garlin |
| Jeff Greene | Real estate developer and philanthropist | No verified public relationship with Gomez found |
The shared name does not connect the developer to Garlin’s acting credits. Likewise, a fictional family relationship in Wizards does not establish a real family relationship between its performers.
The Documented Connection Is Through Jeff Garlin
Gomez and Garlin appeared in the same television series, Wizards of Waverly Place. Gomez played Alex Russo, while Garlin appeared as Uncle Kelbo.
Apple TV’s listing for “Alex in the Middle” explicitly credits Garlin as Uncle Kelbo. Its episode description explains that Jerry’s brother visits the family, and Alex wants him to become her wizard trainer.
That story establishes an on-screen family connection between their characters. Garlin plays Alex’s uncle; he is not identified by that credit as Gomez’s real uncle.
Garlin also played Jeff Greene in Curb Your Enthusiasm. According to TheWrap’s cast guide, Greene is Larry David’s manager and best friend within the comedy.
The accurate connection therefore runs through one actor and two separate roles: Garlin worked on Gomez’s Disney series and portrayed a character named Jeff Greene on HBO.
Who Is Jeff Greene, the Property Developer?
The real Jeff Greene is a developer and philanthropist associated with West Palm Beach, Florida. His documented work includes property and education projects.
In an announcement dated 23 March 2026, Vanderbilt University reported a land donation from Greene and his wife, Mei Sze Greene. The gift comprised eight adjoining parcels, totalling more than an acre, for the university’s planned West Palm Beach campus.
Vanderbilt identified the couple as the donors. Its announcement does not describe Gomez as a participant in that gift or connect her to Greene’s work.
This provides a concrete way to distinguish the developer from the television character. One appears in institutional reporting about land and education; the other belongs to a scripted comedy.
Is There a Personal or Business Relationship With Gomez?
No verified personal or business relationship between Gomez and the developer was established in the sources reviewed.
Rare Beauty’s official website identifies Gomez as its founder. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt’s announcement documents Greene’s involvement in its campus project. These sources support their respective activities, but they do not establish a shared venture.
The same care applies to claims about dating or family connections. An article placing two names together needs evidence before describing those people as partners or relatives.
This finding has a clear limit: it does not prove that Gomez and Greene have never met privately. It means there is insufficient reliable evidence to present a relationship between them as fact.
Does the Television Connection Explain the Search Phrase?
The overlapping names offer a possible explanation, but the origin of the phrase remains unverified. No authoritative source reviewed establishes why people began searching for “Selena Gomez and Jeff Greene”.
The acting credits themselves are clear. Jeff Garlin appeared in Wizards of Waverly Place, and Jeff Greene was his character in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Whether that overlap caused the combined search is a separate question.
For readers remembering Gomez alongside the actor who played Uncle Kelbo, Jeff Garlin is the relevant name. For readers asking about the Florida developer, no verified public relationship with Gomez was found.
